Uncontained Iran screens soft power

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the US and Israel have lost Egypt, a key regional ally, and now want to keep the remnants of the old regime in power by stoking sectarian violence in the North African country.

While addressing the premier screening of a documentary film about Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa, President Ahmadinejad called on Egyptian people to exercise caution, and prepare themselves for elections, because, he said, elections would open up a new front for resistance against Israel and its financial backers.

Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance also said the protest movements rocking the Arab world have weakened the US and Israel, while strengthening Iran’s regional position.

Also speaking to Press TV, the spouse of Dr. Majid Shahriari, an Iranian nuclear scientist, who was assassinated by terrorists last year in Tehran, said the protesters seek to topple the pro-US and pro-Israel regimes, because these protests have all the hallmarks of Iran’s Islamic Revolution.

Therefore, the biggest plus point and highlight of the student documentary film has to be the fact that it also illustrates a snapshot of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and soft power within the heart of Arab Spring – just as predicted years earlier by the Iranian leadership.
